OOOOOOOO-klahoma!!!!!

Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!

Tsu is in Oklahoma with my dad, meeting my dad's side of the family. Fishing. Enjoying 80 degree weather while I deal with thunder snow on April 3. *sigh*

OK, to be fair it was windy in Oklahoma. But yeah. Thunder snow. In April. I am SOOOO over this.

The part of Oklahoma where my uncle lives is the same area where the book "Where The Red Fern Grows" takes place. Which would be one of my favorite books ever. I was tempted to watch the movie again but.... I am not in an emotional place where a tearjerker sounds good to me. Plus my uncle lives walking distance out the back of his property to Lake Tenkiller, which is just about one of the prettiest places on this planet, IMO.

So there are two places I could see myself living other than Michigan. The Eastern end of Tennessee and North East Oklahoma. One is jammed full of people I already know, the other has virtually no one I know. Both are beautiful and jammed full of rural goodness. Both have much more mild winters than we have here. Both are, for now, an impossible daydream. But maybe someday.

On a completely unrelated note, proof that Tiff's room has a floor.

We moved the futon into her room for her bed, now I have my old freaky satellite dish chair in the livingroom. lol. We may look for a used recliner to put there, but for now the dogs are enjoying the satellite dish chair.

I have no clue why there is a bottle of soda in the middle of the floor. *shrug*

Lard butt.

Normally in the winter every single day I check all my horses (*gulp* my single horse now) and feel their spine and ribs to make sure they are staying at a good weight. I do this to make sure they aren't getting too thin.

Well, I've been lazy. Brego was clearly not too skinny, is back is almost level like a table, hehe. So i slacked off on the checking. Day before yesterday I had Tiff come out with me to get some pictures of Brego and I with me wearing my Gypsy Horse hat.

As you can see, I was all decked out like a fashion diva:

Anyhooooo.... i wanted to try and get some side shots of the hairy beastie and so i had Tiff take some treats and go keep his attention while I took pictures and when I just on a whim felt for his ribs..... I COULDN'T FIND ANY!!!! His ribs are just GONE! lol.

Parsley and Chickory spent a week in the outdoor pen, they seemed to like it. BUT this ice storm moved in and I had to stick them back in the barn for a bit. That sure makes doing chores a lot more complicated. But isn't Chickory turning out lovely?

It's been busy!

Mary and Sparrow have gone to their new home. I haven't checked in to see how they are doing, I know Jim would let me know if they had any problems. Brego fussed for a day maybe, and has fallen into a routine of mugging me for cuddles and enjoying having his hay to himself. He keeps sweet talking the neighbors mare and talking to the goats in the barn. My barn floor is drying up without Mary and Sparrow in there going pee all the time as well.

I started putting Nightshade out in the barn in a big dog crate during the day last weekend, i figured he was two weeks old which was when i started to pull the babies from their moms for a few hours so i could get milk, so he could basically do the same thing. Two nights ago he started spending the night out there as well. YAY! No more goat diapers. Today I have him spending some time in with the does and the two Kennys. Chickory and Parsley have relocated ot the outdoor goat pen.

Basically NO ONE is happy. *grin* Rosemary misses her baby, but Nightshade is making good use of her milk. I still have to put her in the milk stand to get her to let him nurse but he has a full tummy at all times so it's working out well.

I gave Parsley his first driving lesson and he did great. He is a natural at giving to pressure, he doesn't LIKE it, but he gets the concept, yay!
