At the rendezvous MIL had sent some really holey crochet pot holders and this ancient knit corn cob pan handle cover thingie. I spent about 4 hours looking at that thing, dinked around with it, did a few google searches for ideas and made this:

They would make awesome warm slippers, lol! I may try that in some weird colour combination! Good idea!
ReplyDeleteWay back in 1972, when I was in junior high school, I made slippers similar to these. Mine were hot pink & purple & made in stripes. They were very warm & comfortable! I finally found a pattern for them after all of these years! 24 years ago I even bought a pair of baby blue & white ones for my son when he was a baby. I still have his slippers! What great memories!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I made a pair of slippers similar to these pot holders when I was in junior high, way back in 1972. Mine were hot pink & purple. They were made in stripes. They were very warm & comfortable. 24 years ago when my son was a baby, I bought a pair of light blue & white ones for him, from a friends mom. I still have his little slippers!!! What great memories!!! It has taken me forever to find a pattern for the slippers!!! My teacher called them 'cucumber slippers'.
