Well, it looks like Rosemary and Thyme (Anona and Bootsie as their registration papers call them) shall be moving on to a home where their unique abilities to have babies and look cute will be greatly appreciated. They will be going to live at Double H Boer Goats where they will no longer need to undergo the indignity of being milked twice a day for half the year. The owner of Double H has a CL-free herd so they need to pass their CL tests before it's 100% a done deal but I have no reason to think they won't pass those with flying colours.
I will miss them. Especially Rosemary. They are sweet, and have been great goats for a first time goat owner. And Rosemary has those gorgeous ears. But I know they are going to a fantastic new home, and i will be able to check on them because their new owner's mother works at the library, hehe. We talk goats every time I go in there.
I'm looking to spend the money on a pair of dairy bred doelings. I'm smitten with Toggenburgs. I may have found a pair of doelings who will be old enough to breed the first time in October or November. They are gorgeous with good bloodlines. I will be going to look at them this week. Not sure what day, depends on when the vet comes out to draw blood on Rosie and Thyme.
This means NO milk until late October at the soonest, and then limited milk until march. *sob* but next year it will mean MORE milk for a LOT longer.
Oh, and this next week is freezer camp week. So by this time next week the Kennii shall be gone. I may be down to 4 goats for a while. Crazy!
